Biblioteca en Cáceres

El proyecto alberga una biblioteca, con un gran número de ejemplares, que posee el propietario de la finca. El pabellón se plantea como un almacén de libros en forma de contenedor cerrado, protegidos de la luz natural y bajo una temperatura estable, lo que favorece su correcta conservación. Se consigue un efecto teatral de espacio en  penumbra donde la luz cenital cae sobre una gran roca que aflora del suelo. Aparecen dos estancias diferenciadas, un despacho y una zona de lectura. Entre estos dos espacios se crea una franja central, rematada por una gran chimenea que articula las dos salas. Los libros se almacenan en una estantería perimetral que recorre el edificio y que tiene su correspondencia en la fachada, que se forra de madera, creando un ritmo muy marcado que representa la propia función del edificio desde el exterior.

LIBURUTEGI ETA IRAKURKETA PABILIOIA. Proiektu honetan lursailaren jabeak duen liburu bilduma anitza jasotzeko espazio berri bat sortu nahi da. Pabilioi berria kutxa itxi baten itxurazko liburu biltegi bat bezala planteatu da. Liburuak argitasun naturaletik babesten dira, temperatura egonkor bat mantentzea lortuz eta aleen kontserbaziorako behar diren baldintzei lagunduz. Argitasun zenitalarekin jokatuz, banealdean dagoen argi bakarra erdian kokatzen den harriruntz zuzentzen da, antzoki efektu bat lortuz. Bi espazio desberdindu ditzakegu: bulegoa batetik eta irakurketarako gunea bestetik. Hauen artean, bi guneak artikulatzen dituen tximinia handi bat proposatzen da. Liburuak, eraikina barneko aldetik inguratzen duen apalategietan gordetzen dira. Keinu hau, kanpoaldetik ere azaltzen zaigu, zurezko fatxaden konposaketan: eraikinaren barne funtzioaren irakurketa ahalbidetuko duen erritmo markatu bat sortzen da.

PAVILION FOR A LIBRARY AND READING ROOM. The aim of the project is to host a library in which to store a large collection of books that belongs to the property owner. The pavilion is conceived as a storehouse in a closed container, protecting the books from natural light and keeping them at a stable temperature, favouring their proper preservation. A theatrical effect is obtained with the creation of a darkened space into which a shaft of light falls on a large rock that emerges naturally from the ground. The building articulates two different rooms, a study and a reading area. Between these two spaces, there is a central joining both areas. The books are stored in perimetral shelves that run around the inner wall of the building. The facade follows a marked rhythm that represents the function of the building from the outside.
